I could be tempted – although I’m not a massive fan of that kind of thing :->

The next week is the usual hecticness though – I’m much better for intermittent time online that sustained in-person time.

I’ve had precisely one person come out from Edinburgh to visit me here since I moved to Polmont.

Most of the people I (we?) know do prefer to handle potentially-awkward contacts online… and dealing with people in difficulties of one sort or another certainly tends to count as awkward.

That said, I’ve been trying to figure out when it might be possible to meet up for a meal. Unfortunately, the forecasts for snow in the next few days make me a little wary of firmly committing to anything (whited-out slippery conditions underfoot don’t mesh nicely with a visually-based balance system), but I can +probably+ commit to being in Edinburgh on Monday should you fancy being taken to dinner.

You do make it fairly difficult to comment – leaving LJ comments disabled, and requiring people to be logged in on wordpress.

FWIW: I have been reading, and obviously, you have my sympathies and my best wishes, but parked here at the other end of the country, there’s a limited amount I can do, and I always feel like generically sympathetic comments of the “*hugs*” variety are, I dunno, kinda cheap. But, I guess, better than saying nothing…

Tomorrow is going to be a very long, probably quite horrible day. My flatmate just apologised for having to kick me out, I told him it really isn’t his fault. It isn’t. Life’s just gone wrong in far too many ways far too quickly and I haven’t been able to fix any of it quickly enough.

Now I really need to take the time out at face value and figure myself out. I’ve been bouncing around from moment to moment for years. It’s too late to keep doing that. I’m accepting this as a gift. When you have nothing, all you can do is rebuild a life for yourself and make it the best you can be.
